Share Market Crash: Nearly Rs 4 lakh crore lost in one fell swoop, fall of 1000 points, only 2 shares green, know the reason?
Business Desk – Share Market Crash: Amidst crude oil prices rising above $120 per barrel and selling pressure in most of the global markets, the domestic stock market also opened in the red today. Moreover, the market found no support as the US Federal Reserve decided to keep interest rates stable instead of cutting them.
Additionally, market concerns increased further after this announcement by US President Donald Trump. The sanctions will continue until a nuclear deal is reached. Iran also warned of possible military action. All sectoral Nifty indices are trading in the red, with Auto, PSU Bank and Private Bank indices falling by more than 1%. There is also a lot of pressure on the small-cap and mid-cap segments.
Overall, the total market capitalization of companies listed on BSE has reduced by about Rs 4 lakh crore, which means that investors’ wealth has declined by Rs 3.29 lakh crore. Talking about equity benchmark indices, as of 09:22 AM, BSE Sensex was trading at 76,665.56, down 830.80 points (1.07%), while Nifty 50 was at 23,910.15, down 267.50 points (1.11%).
Investors’ wealth declined by Rs 3.29 lakh crore
Just one trading day earlier on April 29, 2026, the total market capitalization of all the stocks listed on BSE was Rs 4,68,24,264.807 crore. Today on April 30, 2026, due to selling pressure, this figure has fallen to Rs 4,64,94,563.66 crore. This shows a decline of Rs 3,29,701.147 crore in investors’ capital.
Only 2 shares of Sensex are in green mark
There are 30 shares listed on Sensex. Of these, only two, Bajaj Finance and Bajaj Finserv, are trading in the green today. On the contrary, the biggest decline is being seen in Zomato, Axis Bank and IndiGo.
63 stocks at one year high
Currently trading is going on in 2,841 stocks on BSE. Of these, 1,036 stocks are looking strong, while 1,671 are in a declining trend. There is no change in 134. Apart from this, 49 stocks have reached one-year high, while 8 stocks have reached one-year low. Meanwhile, 66 stocks have reached their upper circuit limits, while 56 stocks have reached their lower circuit limits.
