Share Market: Impact of tension in the Middle East! Outcry in the Indian stock market, Sensex-Nifty opened in the red.
Share Market Opening Bell 20th July: Due to increasing tension in the Middle East, the Indian stock market opened in the red in Monday’s trading session. At 9:15 am, Sensex was at 77,672 with a weakness of 472 points or 0.62 per cent and Nifty was at 24,221 with a weakness of 122 points or 0.50 per cent. Financial shares were leading the selling in the market in early trade. Nifty Private Bank and Nifty Financial Services were the biggest falling indices. Nifty Services, Nifty Realty, Nifty Auto, Nifty Consumer Durables, Nifty FMCG and Nifty India Defense were in the red.
Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Pharma, Nifty Healthcare, Nifty Metal, Nifty Oil&Gas, Nifty Commodities, Nifty Energy and Nifty Infra were in the green. Small and medium stocks are trading in a limited range. The Nifty Midcap 100 index was flat at 62,424 and the Nifty Smallcap 100 index was down marginally by 10 points at 19,287.

Tech Mahindra, Bharti Airtel, SBI in Sensex pack ICICI BankReliance Industries, HCL Tech, Trent, Tata Steel, Sun Pharma, NTPC, Tata Steel, Adani Ports, UltraTech Cement and L&T were the gainers. Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Indigo, Maruti Suzuki, Bajaj Finance, Eternal, M&M, HUL, TCL, M&M, BEL and Bajaj Finserv were the losers.
Impact of US-Iran war on the market
Indian markets The opening in the red is being attributed to tension in the Middle East. The US is continuously striking Iran, due to which there are concerns about the Strait of Hormuz, which is an important route for 20 percent of the crude oil exported in the world. US Central Command said in a statement that it had launched a new round of strikes aimed at weakening Iran’s ability to attack commercial vessels in the strait’s vital shipping lanes. At the same time, Iranian media has claimed that America has targeted some Iranian cities with missiles.

Condition of other markets of the world
Mixed trading is taking place in global markets. Shanghai, Hong Kong and Jakarta were in the green. At the same time, Bangkok and Seoul were in the red. The US stock market closed in the red in Friday’s trading session. The main index Dow Jones closed with a weakness of 0.77 percent and Nasdaq fell by 1.40 percent.
