The market cap of companies listed on BSE came to Rs 482.30 lakh crore which was Rs 482.70 lakh crore yesterday. Earlier on Monday, Nifty fell by -96 points and closed at 24,238 at the end of trading.

On the other hand, indices like Nifty India Defence, Nifty Consumer Durables, Nifty Pharma, Nifty Media, Nifty Healthcare and Nifty Realty were in the red. Buying is being seen in the market on a broad basis. The Nifty Midcap 100 index was at 62,945, up 140 points or 0.22 per cent, and the Nifty Smallcap 100 index was at 19,399, up 71 points or 0.38 per cent.
American market also declined
Most of the Asian markets are trading at a brisk pace. Tokyo, Shanghai, Jakarta and Seoul were in the green. At the same time, Bangkok and Hong Kong were in the red. US stock markets closed with losses on Monday, with the main index Dow Jones down 0.59 per cent and Nasdaq down 0.05 per cent.
Foreign investors are selling
Continuous selling by foreign investors continues. foreign institutional investors (FIIs) withdrew Rs 1,121.04 crore from equities on Monday. At the same time, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) invested Rs 1,312.03 crore in the equity market.
