Share Market Today: Positive trend in Asian markets, rise in Sensex-Nifty, decline in shares of these companies

Mumbai. Sensex and Nifty maintained the previous session’s gains in early trade on Wednesday due to sharp fall in crude oil prices and positive trend in Asian markets. BSE Sensex rose 885.32 points to 74,953.77 in early trade while NSE Nifty rose 307.65 points to 23,220.05.

Among the 30 companies included in the Sensex, shares of Mahindra & Mahindra, UltraTech Cement, Adani Ports, HDFC Bank, Trent and Eternal were the biggest gainers. Shares of Tech Mahindra and Infosys declined. In Asian markets, South Korea’s Kospi, Japan’s Nikkei 225, China’s SSE Composite and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng were among the gainers.

US markets closed with a decline on Tuesday. The price of international standard Brent crude fell by 4.34 percent to $ 99.95 per barrel. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were buyers on Tuesday and sold shares worth Rs 8,009.56 crore. However, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 5,867.15 crore. On Tuesday, Sensex closed with a gain of 1.89 percent and Nifty with a gain of 1.78 percent.
