A warning from Trump and the share market crashed, Sensex-Nifty turned red after green opening.
Share Market Today: The domestic stock market has reached the red mark just minutes after a good start. BSE’s 30-share sensitive index Sensex has fallen by 377 points to 72942. Whereas, NSE’s benchmark index Nifty 50 of 50 stocks fell 66 points today to the level of 22642.
Earlier, signs of decline were visible in the Indian stock market, in which weakness was also seen in Gift Nifty. Along with this, weak signals from global markets also affected Sensex and Nifty today.
Rising tensions in West Asia, rising crude oil prices and selling by foreign investors had already weakened the market environment. Let us tell you that on Monday, Gift Nifty opened with a fall of more than 75 points.
State of Global Markets
In Asian markets today, the Japanese Nikkei index has seen a rise of more than 1 percent. However, China’s Shanghai Stock Exchange is closed for the Qingming Festival, Taiwan’s TWSE will be closed for Children’s/Tomb-sweeping Day, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is closed for the Easter holiday.
Impact of America and Iran war on share market
US President Donald Trump warned on Sunday that if Iran did not open the Strait of Hormuz by Tuesday, he would attack Iran’s key infrastructure, such as power plants and bridges. Crude oil prices have increased amid the US-Iran-Israel war. Brent crude has reached the level of $ 110 per barrel, while the price of WTI crude is $ 112 per barrel.
Fall in gold and silver prices
Due to increase in crude oil prices, there was pressure on gold and silver prices in Asian markets. On Comex, gold fell nearly 0.50% to $4,655 an ounce, while silver fell one percent to $72 an ounce.
