Share Market Update: Due to the Union Budget, Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will remain open on Saturday, 1 February 2025. On that day, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present her eighth Union Budget.

Both the exchanges will be open for normal trading as usual from 9:15 am to 3:30 pm. The commodity derivatives segment will also be open for trading in the morning session on February 1.

Stock exchanges in India are usually closed on Saturdays and Sundays. However, on some special occasions special trading sessions are organized these days.

Even before this, the market opened on the budget day

Earlier on 1 February 2020, the budget day was Saturday, the day the stock market was open. At the same time, on 28 February 2015, the market was open on Saturday and the budget was also presented on the same day.

Market closed with gains today

Today, on December 23, the first trading day of the week, the Sensex closed at 78 thousand 540 with a gain of 498 points. There was a rise of 165 points in Nifty also. It closed at 23 thousand 753. Apart from this, BSE Smallcap fell by 331 points and closed at 54 thousand 817.

Out of 30 Sensex shares, 20 rose and 10 declined. Out of 50 shares of Nifty, 32 were up and 18 were down. Realty sector closed with the highest gain of 1.47 percent.
