Sharjah Ruler: The face of Kalba will change in December, Sheikh Sultan announced the inauguration of many big projects.
Ruler of Sharjah Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi has given a very good news for the people of Kalba. He has announced that many important projects of the city will be inaugurated in December. He shared this information during an interview on Sharjah Radio and Television’s “Direct Line” program on 5 May 2026.

Which projects are going to start in December?
Sheikh Sultan said that many big works will be completed by December so that people can get better facilities. He said that he is very eager to complete these projects soon. Mainly these projects will start:
- Al Hayar: The rest area and lake here will be inaugurated.
- Wadi Al Helo: The work of new roads here will be completed.
- Kalba Corniche: The city’s beautiful Corniche will be opened to the public.
- Compensation Buildings: New buildings built for the people will be ready.
- Khor Kalba: Here old houses are being converted into rental lodges and hotels, as well as forts and mosques are being developed.
What decision was taken on environment and new residential areas?
The ruler has made it clear that along with development, it is also important to save nature. For this reason, they have taken some tough decisions so that the environment is not harmed:
- Rescue of sea turtles: Plans to build a hotel on Kalba Beach and a private boat project have been put on hold to protect sea turtles.
- Al Furaish Lake: A wonderful park, trees and waterfalls will be built here for children.
- Residential Plot: Approval has been given to build 190 new residential plots, a main park and a mosque in the Al Dahiyat area.
- New roundabout: A new roundabout with rose water fountains and a pedestrian tunnel will be built in the western part of the city to welcome visitors.
- Other Projects: Work is underway on hotel apartments and “Above the Clouds Rest House” overlooking Al Souq Al Jubail, which may open in late 2026 or early 2027.
