'This matter should not have been dragged into the dock', Shashi Tharoor gave a statement regarding the FIR against Rahul Gandhi

The controversy in Parliament over the alleged clash between Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and two BJP MPs Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput continued for the second day. Several leaders from both the parties reacted sharply and blamed each other, while Congress' Lok Sabha MP Shashi Tharoor also expressed disappointment over the incident that took place yesterday.

What did the Congress MP say?

When asked about this incident, which is being described as the most special incident of the winter session of Parliament, Shashi Tharoor said that such an incident should not have happened. He said that whatever happens inside the Parliament, it should remain there and be discussed there. Everything should be resolved within the premises and matters should not be made public.

Talking about the FIR lodged against Rahul Gandhi, Shashi Tharoor said that this matter should not have been taken to court, this is not right. He said that all (MPs) are disappointed that the Parliament session is not running smoothly and properly.

Tharoor said that in view of this incident, the public also has the right to express their disappointment over the matter. Congress MP Tharoor said, “There is no problem in participating in the protest march outside Parliament, but inside Parliament, the government should talk to the opposition and resolve the conflict (Baba Ambedkar issue).”
