UDF defeated at these two places
Of the 101 wards of Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation, BJP won 50, LDF 29, United Democratic Front (UDF) 19 and two seats were won by independent candidates. Also the NDA retained Palakkad Municipality after a tough fight with the Congress-led UDF and defeated the Congress in Thrippunithura Municipality.
Thrissur seat was won in Lok Sabha elections
In the last Lok Sabha elections, BJP’s Suresh Gopi had won the Thrissur seat. The BJP won 18 out of 46 wards in Kodungallur municipality under this constituency, eight in Thrissur Corporation, two each in Guruvayur and Wadakkanchery municipalities, seven in Kunnamkulam Municipality, six in Irinjalakuda Municipality and one in Chalakudy Municipality. BJP also won four wards in block panchayats and 167 wards in gram panchayats in Thrissur district, but failed to open its account in the district panchayats.

The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) has won a decisive victory in the 2025 Kerala local body elections, while the Left Democratic Front has suffered a setback.
