Shatrughan Sinha stands like a “rock” for Sonakshi and Zaheer in a new interview
Veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha has once again shut down rumors of family discord regarding his daughter Sonakshi Sinha’s interfaith marriage to Zaheer Iqbal. In a candid conversation with News18 on March 27, 2026, the legendary “Shotgun” actor addressed long-standing curiosity about the union, especially given his iconic residence is named Ramayana.
Sinha was emphatic in his approval, stating, “Bilkul thik thaak hai. Hum bahot khush hai. (Everything is absolutely fine. We are very happy.)” He further described the couple as being “made for each other,” dismissing any speculation of a rift within the Sinha household.
Addressing the critics of the 2024 wedding, Shatrughan delivered a powerful message about constitutional rights and personal autonomy. “The most important thing is that whatever we have done, we have not done anything illegal or against the Constitution,” he noted, referring to the couple’s civil ceremony under the Special Marriage Act.
He famously added the adage, “Miya-biwi raazi toh kya karega Qazi?” (If the husband and wife are willing, what can the judge do?), reinforcing that as adults, Sonakshi and Zaheer have every right to choose their life partner. He concluded by promising to stand by them “wholeheartedly, like a rock,” effectively silencing the “noise” that has surrounded the couple since they first went public with their relationship.
