Sheetala Saptami has special significance in Hindu religion, which is an important fast dedicated to Mother Sheetala. Mother Shitala is worshiped as the goddess who protects from diseases, and it is believed that worshiping on this day brings happiness and prosperity in the family and removes problems related to children.

According to the Panchang, in the year 2026, the fast of Sheetala Saptami will be observed on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, i.e. today. On this occasion, devotees worship Mother Shitala and pray for the well-being of the family and health of the children.

Worship method of Sheetala Saptami: On the day of Sheetala Saptami, wake up early in the morning and take bath and wear clean clothes. After that, worship Mata Shitala duly at home or in the temple.

Donating food, clothes or grains to the poor or needy on the day of Sheetala Saptami is considered very auspicious. This remedy reduces the obstacles in the life of the child. Worship the Neem tree. Neem tree is considered to be associated with Mother Shitala. On this day, offering water to the Neem tree and worshiping it protects the family from diseases. Keep the house clean.

There is a religious belief that Mother Shitala likes cleanliness. Therefore, on this day, cleaning the house and maintaining a clean environment around is considered auspicious.

Religious significance of Shitala Saptami
