Disposal of illegal part of Sanjauli Masjid, workers uprooted tin roof

A lot of controversy has arisen against the illegal mosque located in Sanjauli, Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. Now, the mosque committee has finally started the work of demolishing the illegal portion. Laborers have been called for this work, who have started uprooting the tin shed from the roof. According to the Mosque Committee, due to lack of funds, this work may take three to four months to complete.

Controversy against Sanjauli Masjid

This action has started after the order of the High Court. The court had ordered the demolition of three floors of the mosque. On Monday, following the instructions of the court, the mosque committee appointed laborers for the demolition work. Earlier, the High Court had directed the Municipal Corporation Commissioner to resolve the matter within eight weeks and also asked to hear the objections of the local people.

Statement of Mosque Committee

Mosque Committee Chairman Latif Mohammad said that the fund has not been managed properly yet, due to which the work is getting delayed. He said that this work requires adequate funds and it may take three to four months. Arrangements for labor are being made, and the mosque committee had also sought necessary permission from the Waqf Board. This work was started as soon as permission was received.

Allegations against Himachal government

The controversy regarding Sanjauli Masjid increased when Hindu organizations protested against it. This controversy became so serious that its echo reached the assembly. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi had also accused Himachal government in this matter. Now, amid the controversies, the Mosque Committee has started the work of demolishing the illegal portion after taking permission from the Waqf Board.
