Shiv Sena Shinde group angry due to no seat sharing, leaders refused to campaign, Fadnavis ran away to meet Shah
The BJP leadership has also become worried as no agreement has been reached so far regarding seat sharing between the NDA alliance in Maharashtra, especially on the four seats between Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena, for which the BJP had declared candidates last Sunday. The first list of 99 candidates released by BJP includes all four candidates from Kalyan East, Thane, Navi Mumbai and Murbad. There is so much tension between the two parties regarding these four seats that the leaders of Eknath Shinde Sena have refused to even campaign.

The BJP leadership wants to resolve the differences as soon as possible and reach a compromise on all 288 seats, so on Wednesday, Amit Shah held a meeting in Delhi, in which state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis were also present. Due to threat from Eknath Shinde Sena, BJP has removed Sulabh Gaikwad, wife of MLA Ganpat Gaikwad from Kalyan East seat, who is currently in jail and has been accused of firing at Shiv Sena leader Mahesh Gaikwad inside the police station.

Now the personal rivalry between the two leaders is also affecting the relations between the parties. Shiv Sena leaders are against making Sulabh Gaikwad the candidate from the beginning and are also angry with making Sanjay Kelkar the candidate from Thane because Eknath Shinde considers Thane as his stronghold and is considering it wrong to field a candidate from BJP. Shiv Sena is also dissatisfied with the candidature of Ganesh Naik in Navi Mumbai and Kishan Kathor in Murbad. There is also discussion that friendly fights should be allowed on the disputed seats, but this will only harm the NDA alliance.

BJP sources say that an agreement has almost been reached on seat sharing. An agreement has already been reached in the MVA, the three parties have announced the sharing of 85 seats each, while Shiv Sena can also field candidates on around 120 seats, and Ajit Pawar's NCP will get a chance on the rest.
