Because postpaid plans in telecom companies have been increased by 12 to 25%. For example, if a company's postpaid recharge plan is Rs 399, now the same recharge plan may cost Rs 449.
New bill will be sent to customers
Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) have together increased the recharge plans. Now all the companies are going to send increased bills to their postpaid customers for the months of October and November. Apart from this, customers will have to pay GST of 18% separately.
This means that a separate GST of 18% will be applicable on your bill. This will increase the expenses of postpaid customers.
There will be a direct impact on these customers
Actually, there are around 120 crore mobile users in India. In which most of the users are prepaid users. But it is believed that around 12% are postpaid users. There will be around 13 to 14 crore postpaid users in India. All these users will now have to loosen their pockets a little.
Just a few months ago, telecom companies had increased prepaid plans by 15 to 20%. Now the customers have been surprised by the increase in postpaid plans.
