Shock to AAP: Rajya Sabha Chairman approves entry of 7 rebel MPs including Raghav Chadha into BJP

New Delhi, 27 April. Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) got a big blow when the Rajya Sabha Chairman on Monday approved the proposal of seven AAP MPs including Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak to join the BJP. Rajya Sabha has issued a notification, in which the names of these seven leaders are included in the list of BJP MPs.

Number of BJP members in Rajya Sabha now increases to 113

After the joining of these seven Aam Aadmi Party MPs in the Rajya Sabha, the number of BJP MPs in the Rajya Sabha has increased to 113, which also includes five members nominated by the President.

Now AAP has only 3 Rajya Sabha MPs left

The names of AAP MPs who have joined BJP are Raghav Chadha, Ashok Kumar Mittal, Harbhajan Singh, Sandeep Kumar Pathak, Vikramjit Singh Sahni, Swati Maliwal and Rajendra Gupta. Now AAP is left with only three MPs in the Upper House. These include Sanjay Singh, Narayan Das Gupta and Sant Balbir Singh.

It is noteworthy that last Friday Raghav Chadha and Sandeep Pathak had announced to join BJP. BJP national president Nitin Nabin had welcomed the MPs into the party by feeding them sweets at the BJP headquarters here.

Sanjay Singh’s attack on BJP and rebel MPs

Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh had attacked BJP and rebel MPs in a press conference on the defection of MPs. He had termed the separation of seven MPs from the Aam Aadmi Party as illegal and had talked about canceling the membership of all the seven MPs including Raghav Chadha. He said that BJP worked against the rules. Despite this, these MPs have got approval to join BJP.
