Shock to BJP in Tamil Nadu, after Annamalai, vice president and secretary also resign

The crisis facing BJP in Tamil Nadu is deepening. Of. After Annamalai’s resignation, BJP state vice president Karu Nagarajan and state secretary Sumathi Venkatesh have also left the party. There is talk of resignation of 14 officials. Let us tell you that former Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai resigned from the primary membership of the party on Friday. BJP President Nitin Nabin also accepted it. Annamalai has taken this step after meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Tuesday.

 

Annamalai will start a new political movement in Tamil Nadu. Shortly after his announcement, Karu Nagarajan and Sumathi Venkatesh have resigned. In December last year itself, Annamalai had expressed his desire to resign. Then the BJP high command had requested him to remain in the party till the assembly elections. Now Annamalai will form his own separate party. He claims that the new political movement will focus on eliminating sectarian and dynastic politics.

Annamalai wanted to leave BJP only last year

After leaving BJP, Annamalai said, ‘My opinion was different. I was putting this forward before BJP leaders for the last 18 months. I had told the party on December 4, 2025 that I am going to resign and they should not think that I have taken this decision in haste. The party told me to wait till the elections are over and then go. As a true worker, I completed my election work till the end.

More BJP leaders may also resign

Karu Nagarajan has expressed his desire to join Annamalai’s new political party. Whereas Sumathi Venkatesh has not opened his cards yet. Political analysts believe that in the coming time, many more leaders of Tamil Nadu BJP may also join Annamalai. Meanwhile, there is an atmosphere of celebration among Annamalai’s supporters. People celebrated by distributing sweets and bursting crackers.

No shock to the party: State President

On the other hand, Tamil Nadu BJP President Nainar Nagendran claims that Annamalai’s resignation has not caused any shock to the party. Annamalai, who expressed his views in an aggressive style, was the most popular face of BJP in Tamil Nadu. The result of his hard work in the Lok Sabha elections was that the party’s vote share had increased to a great extent.
