Shock to CJP before Parliament march, permission not granted; Section 163 implemented in New Delhi

The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has suffered a major setback before the proposed Parliament march on July 20 in Delhi. Delhi Police has made it clear that no permission has been given to the party to take out the march till Parliament. Police have said that action will be taken under the law against those who participate in any procession or demonstration without permission. This warning has come at a time when the monsoon session of Parliament is starting from Monday and security arrangements have already been tightened in the capital. At the same time, Delhi Police has implemented Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code (BNSS) in New Delhi district.

CJP has announced a Parliament march demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak and irregularities in various public examinations. This movement has also received support from environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk. However, police say that due to the restrictive orders in force in New Delhi district, no unauthorized march or demonstration can be allowed.

Section 163 implemented in New Delhi

Delhi Police says that Section 163 of BNSS is currently applicable in New Delhi district, which has replaced the earlier Section 144 of CrPC. This means that five or more people cannot gather together or hold a procession or demonstration without permission. If anyone wants to demonstrate, first permission will have to be taken from the administration at Jantar Mantar.

The police have appealed to the people to follow the law and not be a part of any unauthorized march or demonstration. The police has also made it clear that action will be taken against those violating the order under other legal sections including Section 223 of the Indian Justice Code (BNS).

Sonam Wangchuk was forcibly taken to the hospital

On Saturday, there was an uproar at Jantar Mantar when policemen in plain clothes took Sonam Wangchuk, who was on hunger strike, with them to Safdarjung Hospital. This was the 21st day of Wangchuk’s fast unto death. Police say that his health was deteriorating, doctors had advised him to be admitted to the hospital and there were also instructions from the Delhi High Court, so he was taken to the hospital. At the same time, Wangchuk and his supporters allege that all this happened against his will and he was detained illegally.

Wangchuk sent his first message to his supporters from the hospital.

From Safdarjung Hospital, Sonam Wangchuk has sent a message to her supporters through her wife Gitanjali Angmo. This message has also been shared on his social media account. Wangchuk said in his message, ’20th July is the second freedom movement. Freedom from fear, freedom from injustice. Freedom from injustice like paper leaks and freedom from fear like my illegal detention. Let us make the Parliament March a great success as part of this second freedom movement of India. I have sent this message through my friend Gitanjali from my illegal detention in Safdarjung.
