Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, who is on a tour of Maharashtra, announced the names of four candidates on Friday (October 18).
Samajwadi Party wants 12 seats
Discussion of Mahavikas Aghadi is going on regarding 288 seats. There are also small constituent parties in Mahavikas Aghadi. In this, Samajwadi Party has demanded 12 seats. Akhilesh Yadav announced four candidates amid the tussle between three parties over seat distribution in Mahavikas Aghadi.
Who are the four candidates of Samajwadi Party?
Akhilesh Yadav has announced the candidature of Abu Azmi from Shivajinagar Assembly Constituency, Raees Shaikh from Bhiwandi East Assembly Constituency, Riyaz Azmi from Bhiwandi West Assembly Constituency and Shane Hind from Malegaon Assembly Constituency. While talking to the media in Malegaon, Akhilesh Yadav also said that the demand of Samajwadi Party for 12 seats in Mahavikas Aghadi is right. Samajwadi Party will win the maximum seats in Maharashtra.
Indirect message to Mahavikas Aghadi
All three major parties are trying to win maximum seats in Mahavikas Aghadi (Akhilesh Yadav announced four candidates). Left party Shekap has asked for seats from Mahavikas Aghadi, but there is discussion that they will be fielded on one or two seats only. Samajwadi Party is also not likely to get more seats. But it is being said in political circles that by announcing four candidates, Akhilesh Yadav has indirectly warned of fighting on his own.
None of the four parties of Mahavikas Aghadi had insisted on seats in the Lok Sabha elections. But now smaller constituent parties have become aggressive in the assembly elections. Mahavikas Aghadi had benefited in the Lok Sabha elections. At present it is being said that if the contenders of this party jump into the fray on their own, then only Mahavikas Aghadi will suffer the blow of distribution of votes.
