Lara Dutta told in an interview to Asian Television Network Canada that a song from the film Andaz was being shot in the sea. During that time, she could not maintain balance amidst the strong waves and went underwater. He said- “I was wearing leather clothes and went into the water… because of the heavy clothes, I started sinking as fast as a stone. I didn’t know how to swim.”

Akshay Kumar becomes support

In this difficult moment, her co-star Akshay Kumar immediately helped her and caught hold of her and took her out safely. However, after this incident, Lara went into hypothermia shock, due to which the shooting had to be stopped and she was immediately taken to the hospital.

Learned to swim at the age of 30

After this accident, Lara Dutta had a deep fear of water in her mind. This was the reason why when he got the offer of the film Blue, he initially rejected it. But Akshay Kumar gave advice and said – “Learn to swim”, which changed his thinking.

At the age of 30, Lara not only learned swimming but also diving and gradually overcame her fear. Later he also shot underwater scenes in the film Blue, which proved to be a major personal triumph for him.
