Shocking road accident in Karnataka: 17 people burnt alive in lorry-bus collision
Desk: A heart-wrenching road accident has taken place in Chitradurga district of Karnataka. 17 people have been burnt alive in a massive collision between a lorry and a bus in Gorlattu village on the National Highway in Hiriyuk Tahuk of Chitradurga district. In fact, there was such a strong collision between a truck and a private sleeper bus that the bus burst into flames and 17 people present in it died tragically.

Late Wednesday night, near Gorlathu Cross on National Highway-48 in Chitradurga district, a speeding truck crossed the divider and hit the sleeper bus coming from the front. As soon as the collision occurred, the bus caught fire in the middle of the road. Before the passengers could understand anything, the bus started burning. It is being told that the truck was going from Hiriyur to Bangalore and the bus was going from Bangalore to Shivamogga.

17 passengers burnt to death
17 passengers traveling in the bus were burnt alive in the accident. Many other injured passengers have been admitted to the nearby hospital. The number of deaths is said to be likely to increase. As soon as information about the incident was received, senior police officers reached the spot and inspected the spot. Heeriyur rural police station has registered a case and started investigation into the accident. 15 women and 14 men were traveling in the bus.

There were 29 passengers in the bus
It is said that there were 29 passengers on total 32 seats of the bus. During the accident, the bus driver, conductor and some passengers saved their lives by jumping from the bus. Lorry driver Kuldeep has also died in a road accident. Gagan Sri-Rashmi, resident of Bengaluru, and Rakshita, resident of Gokarna, were traveling in the bus. His condition is said to be critical. After the incident, there was a 30 kilometer jam on National Highway-48.
