The shooting of the much-awaited fifth season of the hit comedy-drama Panchayat has officially begun. On Friday, April 3, 2026, Amazon Prime Video shared behind-the-scenes photos of (BTS) from the set, which created a lot of excitement among the fans. The streamer captioned the post: “Spent 6 years in Phulera and never wanted to leave #PanchayatOnPrime, new season, shooting underway now.” In these pictures, the lead actors including Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav and others are once again seen in the same familiar village environment.
Since its launch in 2020, *Panchayat* has become one of India’s most loved web series, praised for its realistic portrayal of village life, sharp humor and heart-touching storylines. The new season takes forward the journey of Abhishek Tripathi (Jitendra Kumar) and the residents of Phulera. According to the makers, Abhishek will face challenges in the work environment under a new and vindictive leadership. While he prepares to fulfill his dream of pursuing an MBA, he must first resolve pending matters in the village.
The series is produced by The Viral Fever (TVF) and directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra. Its story has been written by Chandan Kumar.
