After coming in at number three, Shourie took full advantage of the 148-run opening partnership between Aman Mokhade and Yash Rathod.
Shorey hit nine fours and three sixes in his innings and took Vidarbha to the score of 365/5 after batting first. This was Shorey’s eighth century in List A cricket. Vidarbha won this match by 89 runs. Shourie’s streak of scoring this century has been going on since the knockout of the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Last season, he scored centuries in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. Shourie, who played a key role in taking Vidarbha to the final along with Karun Nair, was the second highest run-scorer for his team. He scored 494 runs in eight innings at an average of 70.47 and strike rate of 92.68.
Shorey started this season with an inning of 136 runs in 125 balls, but even after this his team could not save the score of 383 against Bengal. Jagadeesan had scored centuries in five consecutive matches in the 2022-23 season, including a record-breaking inning of 277 runs against Arunachal Pradesh.
This is the highest individual score in List A cricket. The names of Nair, Devdutt Padikkal, Kumar Sangakkara and Alviro Pietersen come in this list who have scored four consecutive centuries. Among these, Sangakkara is the only batsman who has scored consecutive centuries in international cricket.
