These two players gave support to captain Shreyas Iyer who lost to Ireland.

Shreyas Iyer also admitted that the defeat in Ireland was disappointing, but it gave the team an opportunity to learn a lot. According to him, many players of the team were playing for the first time in conditions like England and Ireland, so initial difficulties were natural. He said that now we will have to leave behind old failures and move forward with new thinking. Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav had also boosted the morale of the team and expressed confidence that it takes some time to adopt new thinking and new strategy, but the team will perform better soon.

Meanwhile, on the occasion of Doctor’s Day, Shreyas Iyer also appeared emotional. He expressed special gratitude to the doctors who helped him return to the field after a serious injury suffered during the 2025 Australia tour. Shreyas told that his spleen was badly injured during that tour and he also suffered internal injuries. He believes that without the hard work of the doctors and proper treatment, he probably would not have been able to come on the field captaining the Indian team again. Now all eyes are on the T20 series against England, where it remains to be seen whether the advice of Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav can give a new direction to the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer or not.
