Shreyas Iyer revealed in front of everyone the mistake due to which Team India lost the series against Ireland.

Shreyas Iyer Statement: Team India faced disappointment on the Ireland tour and faced a crushing defeat in the 2-match T-20 series. India had lost in the first match played in Belfast and then it was expected that it would make a comeback and win in the second match. But, the Irish team showed an amazing game, due to which India had to face defeat. However, after the match was over, Indian captain Shreyas Iyer praised Ireland’s performance and congratulated them for the victory. He also told about the mistake of Team India, due to which India had to face defeat.

Shreyas Iyer congratulated Ireland

A 2-match T-20 series was played between India and Ireland. In this series, host Ireland surprised everyone and clean swept India for the first time in history. Before this series, Ireland had not defeated India even in a T-20 match and now created history by giving a clean sweep to Team India. In such a situation, captain Shreyas Iyer appreciated the efforts of Ireland and congratulated them for this historic victory.

Shreyas Iyer said in the post match presentation after the series loss, “To be honest, this series was not good for us, but we have to praise them for how they played. I think the Irish team showed professionalism and had a very good understanding of the behavior of the pitch, their fielding was also tremendous. So congratulations to them for a great victory.”

Shreyas Iyer told the big reason for Team India’s defeat

Did the Irish team show the cricket understanding, learning ability and adaptability that they had talked about after the first match? In response to this question, Shreyas said, “Absolutely. I think our bowlers did really well today, but our batting was a little weak. We were a little behind in understanding the behavior of the pitch and converting singles into doubles. I think they played better than us in that respect.”

What did Shreyas Iyer say about debutants?

Two young players made their debut for India in the second T20 match played with Ireland. Prince Yadav and Suryansh Shedge were handed debut caps. However, Vaibhav Suryavanshi did not get a chance to play and had to sit on the bench during the entire series.

Regarding the debuting players, Shreyas said, Of course, as I said earlier, Prince has good experience of IPL and he has brought the same rhythm here also. He has his own ideas and plans when it comes to bowling. But the attitude and approach he and Suryansh had… I mean, it was Suryansh’s first match, but yes, he will definitely learn from it. It is an honor and a pleasure for me to be here.”
