Shubman Gill rates his Wankhede knock against New Zealand

Shubman Gill called his 90-run knock as one of his best in Test cricket. He looked comfortable in the first innings of the third and final Test at the Wankhede Stadium. Shubman missed the opening Test in Bengaluru due to neck stiffness.

His batting helped the home team in taking a lead in day of the game. Shubman and Rishabh Pant added important runs to take the team’s total to 263. .

Gill failed to register a three-digit mark after Ajaz Patel got rid of him in the 54th over of the Indian innings.

“One of my better knocks in Test. I tried to bat freely against the spinners. We tried to put their bowlers under pressure. It is not easy for the bowlers to bowl consistently if we hit them,” Shubman Gill ssid.

Shubman has scored more than 800 runs in 10 Tests in 2024. The batter worked on his game in the practice session. “I worked on my game and the net sessions with my coach has helped me a lot. I am happy with my performance this year,” he added.

New Zealand are ahead by 143 runs after losing 9 wickets in the 2nd innings. They posted 171/9 on Saturday, 2 November.
