Shubman Gill’s return to T20I series confirmed, fitness certificate received from BCCI CoE
Shubman Gill Fitness Update: India’s Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill, who was injured in the Kolkata Test against South Africa, has been declared fit to play all formats. Gill has successfully completed his rehabilitation program at the BCCI Center of Excellence (CoE) after his neck injury. Now the speculations about his playing the upcoming T20I series against South Africa have come to an end.

According to BCCI Center of Excellence (CoE) medical officials, Shubman Gill not only completed his rehab but also met all the fitness and performance criteria required to return to competitive cricket. His recovery process has been closely monitored, and the results have been described as “successful and satisfactory.” Gill will be formally discharged from the CoE, and will be accompanied by a detailed clinical handover to the relevant Sports Science and Medicine (SSM) team, who will oversee his reintegration into training and match preparation.
Let us tell you that the series of five T20I matches between India and South Africa is starting from 9th December. The first match is to be played at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack. BCCI has already announced the team for this series. In which Gill has been included in the team as vice-captain. This series is very important in view of the preparations for the T20 World Cup 2026 to be played in the country next year.
