Why is Shubman Gill not in the playing-11 of Perth Test? BCCI itself gave the reason

Why is Shubman Gill not playing Perth Test?
The Indian cricket team has suffered a big setback even before the start of the Perth Test. The team's star batsman Shubman Gill is not part of the playing eleven. Everyone was shocked to see this, because he has the ability to play important innings for Team India at number-3. However, BCCI itself has posted on social media and informed that he is out of playing-11 due to injury.
BCCI wrote in the tweet- Update: Shubman Gill suffered a left thumb injury on the second day of match simulation at the WACA. He was not selected in the team for the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. BCCI's medical team is monitoring his progress daily.

2 youngsters got a chance to debut
Two youngsters from India have got a chance to debut in the Perth Test match. Nitish Reddy and Harshit Rana have been handed Test caps by Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin. At the same time, Devdutt Padikkal has got a chance in place of Shubman Gill at number-3.
