Siddaramaiah vs Shivkumar: Idli-Sambhar bridged the gap? Both said – the high command will decide
Will Karnataka’s drama end or is it just beginning? This is because amid the tussle that has been going on for several days, there was a meeting between CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar on Saturday. Both of them talked at the breakfast table.
A picture of Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar sitting at the table and having breakfast has also surfaced. Both of them sat together and ate idli-sambar. During this, there was a slight smile on both of their faces.
This meeting between the two at the breakfast table took place at the behest of the Congress high command. Siddaramaiah had told on Friday that he had invited Shivakumar for breakfast. He had said, ‘The party high command had called me and him and asked for a meeting. That’s why I’ve invited them for breakfast. We will talk when he comes.

Who said what after the meeting?
Both the leaders spoke to the media after the tussle that had been going on for several weeks. During this, CM Siddaramaiah said that we had held this meeting today to remove the confusion that was going on. CM Siddaramaiah said that there are no differences between him and Shivakumar today nor will there ever be in future.
Siddaramaiah said, ‘DK came to my house and we had breakfast together. KC Venugopal had called me the day before yesterday and asked that DK be invited for breakfast. He also told DK. DK had also invited me to his house for breakfast.
He said, ‘There are no differences between us and there will be no differences in future also. Our agenda is 2028 elections. Local elections are necessary. We did church on them. We also discussed bringing Congress back in the 2028 elections. We discussed that we will go together.

There is no confusion: Siddaramaiah
After the breakfast meeting with Shivakumar, Siddaramaiah said, ‘We have decided that whatever the high command says, we will accept it. There will be no confusion from tomorrow. Still no confusion. Some media reporters have created confusion.
During this time, when he was asked about the no-confidence motion brought by BJP, Siddaramaiah called it a useless attempt.
Siddaramaiah said, ‘BJP and JDS have a habit of making false allegations. BJP and JDS have given statements that they will bring no-confidence motion. They have only 60 and JDS has 18. They cannot compete with our numbers. We have 140. This is a useless effort. We will face their false allegations.

What did Shivkumar say?
After Siddaramaiah, DK Shivakumar also spoke to the media. He claimed that there is no confusion and both are working together.
Shivkumar said, ‘With the support of all of you, we have brought the Congress government and we are working as per our promises. We have full support of the public. We have to fulfill their wishes. We are working in that direction.
He further said, ‘Whatever the high command says, we will follow it. There is no group. We are still working together. Whatever the CM said, I am with him. We are working together.
Regarding leadership in Karnataka, Shivakumar said, ‘As far as leadership is concerned, we obey our party high command. Whatever they say is our decision. We have been loyal soldiers of the party.
He said, ‘We know that the party is going through difficult times but we are confident that Karnataka will play a big role. We will form the government again in 2028 and will move forward in 2029 under the leadership of Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi.

Both posted a picture of breakfast
Both Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar posted pictures of the breakfast meeting on X. Posting the picture, Siddaramaiah wrote, ‘Had breakfast with Deputy CM DK Shivakumar this morning and had a short chat.’
DK Shivakumar also shared this picture and wrote, ‘This morning met CM Siddaramaiah for a breakfast meeting at Kaveri Residence. There was a good discussion about the priorities and future of Karnataka.
This meeting between the two took place at a time when two days ago there was a war of words on social media regarding the ‘power of words’. Shivkumar had written, ‘Sticking to one’s words is the greatest power in the world.’ Hitting back, Siddaramaiah had said, ‘No words are power unless they make the world better for people.’
