Ranji Trophy: Uttarakhand defeated by Siddharth Desai, became the first player to do so for Gujarat

Sports Desk: Gujarat's Siddharth Desai made a big achievement against Uttarakhand in Ranji Trophy. Siddharth Desai became the first bowler for Gujarat to take 9 wickets. He has created history for Gujarat by breaking the record of Jasubhai Patel. Uttarakhand's team was reduced to 111 runs only on the basis of 9 wickets of Siddharth Desai.

Young left arm spinner Siddharth Desai took nine wickets for 36 runs. This is the best bowling performance by a player from Gujarat in first-class cricket. On the basis of his brilliant bowling, Gujarat has dominated the match. Desai wreaked havoc with the new ball and did not give any chance to the Uttarakhand batsmen. Uttarakhand team was reduced to 111 runs in 30 overs.

Desai made this special record in his name by taking 9 wickets. The previous best bowling record for Gujarat is in the name of Jasubhai Patel, who took eight wickets for 21 runs in 1960-61. Desai has written a new history by breaking this record. Desai, however, missed the 'perfect 10' as Vishal Jaiswal took the last wicket of Harsh Patwal.

For Uttarakhand, Shashwat Dangwal scored the highest score of 35 runs while opener Avnish Sudha scored 30 runs. Gujarat scored 190 runs after losing four wickets at stumps on the first day. Manan Hinrajiya is playing with 66 runs while Urvil Patel scored 53 runs. Jaymeet Patel (29 not out) was present at the crease along with Hinrajiya. In this way Gujarat has achieved a lead of 79 runs in the first innings.
