Siddharth Gupta’s Epic ‘Krishnavataram: Hridayam’ Closes Curtain with ₹34 Crore Box Office Tally
‘Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart (Hridayam)’ dazzled audiences across India, wrapping up its theatrical journey with a solid Rs. 34 crore nett at the box office. This captivating mythological drama, featuring the charismatic Siddharth Gupta alongside talents like Sushmitha Bhat, Nivaashiyni Krishnan, and newcomer Sanskruti Jayana, had viewers flocking to the theaters.
The film’s performance was marked by a promising Rs. 1.45 crore on its opening, including Rs. 40 lakh from previews alone. It went on to gather Rs. 12 crore in its first week, followed by Rs. 9.85 crore in the second week. As the weeks rolled by, the numbers tapered off to Rs. 6.50 crore in the third and Rs. 3.85 crore in the fourth week, eventually adding just Rs. 2 crore before its theatrical exit.
Challenges and Triumphs
Directed by Hardik Gajjar, the film showcased a decent performance, especially considering its cast. Yet, the high production costs cast a shadow over its box office success, presenting a significant hurdle. Despite the film’s robust start and audience intrigue during its initial weeks, the lack of extensive promotion possibly clipped its wings, preventing a longer stay in theaters.
A Trilogy in Question
Envisioned as the inaugural installment of the ‘Krishnavataram’ trilogy, the film’s financial journey leaves the future of its sequels in a state of suspense. With its box office results now in the spotlight, it will be compelling to watch whether the producers decide to bring the remaining chapters to life.
