Sidharth Malhotra in talks for another Dharma romance

More than ten years after his debut, actor Sidharth Malhotra may be heading back to where it all started, working again with filmmaker Karan Johar.

Multiple reports are claiming that the 41-year-old actor is in advanced talks to headline a romantic drama backed by Dharma Productions.

This project is expected to be directed by Sharan Sharma. If things move ahead as planned, filming could begin in Mumbai by the summer of 2026.

The possible reunion carries a bit of nostalgia. The Marjaavaan star first entered Bollywood with Johar’s Student of the Year in 2012. Since then, he has worked in several films linked with Dharma, including Hasee toh phasee, Shershaah and others.

The new film is described as an emotional relationship drama. It will look at complicated connections between its characters rather than a simple love story.

According to Mid-Daythe idea was shared with the Brothers actor last year.

A source familiar with developments revealed, “The studio is keen to collaborate with Sidharth again and feels that the subject suits his persona. He had liked the idea when it was shared with him last year.

He gave a verbal go-ahead at the time, and wanted to read the script before committing formally. Now, it’s in the last stages of conversation,” their source revealed.

The film would also bring Sidharth Malhotra back with Sharan Sharma, who earlier directed Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl and Mr. & Mrs. Mahi.

Away from work, the actor has been in a different phase of life. The Aiyaary actor and his wife, actor Kiara Advani, recently welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Saraayah.

Meanwhile, on screen, he is preparing for the upcoming film Vvan alongside Tamannaah Bhatia.
