Three innocent children lost their lives while playing by making a tunnel in an earthen mound.

A heart-wrenching accident took place on Monday morning in Nechhwa police station area of Sikar district of Rajasthan, where three innocent children lost their lives when an earthen tunnel collapsed. Another child narrowly escaped in this incident, only through whose screams the villagers were able to get information about the accident. This incident took place in Ganeri village, where children had made a tunnel to play under a 3 to 4 feet high earthen mound in the field. Children used to come and go from one side to the other through this tunnel.

On Monday morning, Holash Meghwal (10), Gautam Saini (14) and Deepesh Nayak (12) reached there to play with their friends. He was also accompanied by a child named Krishna, who was present just outside the tunnel. While playing, the three children went inside the tunnel, when suddenly the soil collapsed and they were buried under it.
At the time of the accident, Krishna’s feet also got buried in the mud, but he showed courage and pulled himself out and tried to save his friends. When he could not succeed, he shouted loudly and called the people nearby. Hearing the sound, the villagers reached the spot and immediately started relief work. As soon as the information was received, the police also reached. With the help of villagers and police, the children were taken out by removing the mud, but by then all three had died.
After the incident, mourning spread in the entire village. It is being told that the families of the deceased children are already financially weak. Holash’s father had died about a year ago, while Deepesh’s father had also committed suicide some time ago. Nechwa police station in-charge Kailash Chand said that this accident happened while children were playing. The police have handed over all three bodies to the relatives after post-mortem. This incident once again highlights the safety of children and the dangers of playing unsupervised in open spaces.
