Simon Harmer Named as ICC Player of the Month for November 2025
The spinner Simon Harmer has been handed with ICC Player of the Month award for November 2025 after a standout performance in the two-match test series in South Africa’s tour of India.
He outmatched Bangladesh’s spinner Taijul Islam and Pakistan’s all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz, who had an impressive campaign in the test series win against Ireland and tri-nation series against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka.
Picking 17 wickets in two matches, Simon Harmer emerged as the star performer helping Proteas men to secure victories against India across Kolkata and Guwahati, guiding South Africa to a 2-0 historic win in sub-continent conditions since 2000.
He returned with the bowling returns of four for 30 and four for 21 in the series opener match played in Kolkata. During the second match, he returned with three for 64 and a stunning 6/37 in Guwahati and concluded the series with 17 wickets at an average of 8.94 and an economy of 1.91.
Speaking on getting the award, the veteran spinner said he is privileged to win the award and added that representing the nation is a dream-come-true moment for him.
“It’s a privilege to be named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for November. Playing for my country is a dream come true, and anything else that comes from it as a result is a bonus.”
“I share this award with my teammates, coaches and support staff and dedicate it to my family who allow me to go out and live my dream, often having to leave them at home to do so.
“It’s a privilege to be a part of the Proteas team, and I hope to enjoy many more successful seasons with this remarkable group of people,” said Simon Harmer.
On the other hand, Shafali Verma has won the ICC Player of the Month award for November 2025 after a stunning contribution in India’s maiden ODI World Cup victory.
She outmatched Thailand’s Thipatcha Putthawong and the UAE’s Esha Ozawho were other nominees.
