Singapore Changi remains Southeast Asia’s largest airport by departing seats

Singapore Changi was the largest airport in Southeast Asia in April with 3.5 million seats, representing a 0.4% increase in capacity year-on-year, according to British aviation firm OAG.

Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur International Airport ranked second with seat capacity of 3.39 million, up 6.4% year on year, followed by Thailand’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport with 3.31 million seats, an increase of 4.1%.

Soekarno-Hatta International Airport of Indonesia placed fourth and Ninoy Aquino International Airport of the Philippines ranked fifth.

Vietnam’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport ranked sixth with 1.9 million seats, down 8.6%, while Noi Bai International Airport came eighth with 1.6 million seats, up 0.3%.

Overall, seat capacity across Southeast Asia increased by 1.7% in April compared with the same month last year, reaching 50.3 million.
