Singer Umar Malik discharged from May 9 attack case

Lahore: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has discharged singer Umar Malik from the May 9 Jinnah House attack case.

During the hearing, the ATC judge questioned the investigating officer asking why the accused was arrested 16 months after the incident and why no action was taken to declare him a fugitive in court.

Upon failing to provide a satisfactory answer, the ATC judge ordered that the accused be discharged from the case.

It is worth noting that Umar Malik was presented in court after completing a 10-day physical remand.

Umar Malik had been arrested by the FIA Cyber Crime Wing on October 10.
