SIR in Bengal: Draft voter list released — here’s how and where to check your name
The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) draft voter list for West Bengal has been published, allowing voters to verify whether their names are included or excluded ahead of the next stage of the electoral process. The draft list is available from Tuesday, December 16, 2025starting 11:30 am.
Where can you check your name online?
Voters can access the draft electoral roll through the following official government websites:
- Election Commission of India (ECI): www.eci.gov.in
- Chief Electoral Officer, West Bengal: ceowestbengal.wb.gov.in
- National Voters’ Service Portal (NVSP): voters.eci.gov.in or nvsp.in
How to search your name in the draft voter list
Step 1: Visit any of the official websites mentioned above.
Step 2: Click on “Search Name in Electoral Roll” or “Draft Electoral Roll”.
Step 3: Enter one of the following details:
- EPIC / Voter ID number (easiest method), or
- Name and Date of Birth/Agealong with
- District and Assembly Constituencyand
- Captcha code
Then click Search or Show.

From December 16, the draft voter list can also be checked physically at:
- Your local polling booth
- Gram Panchayat office
- Municipality office
- Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) office
- District Magistrate (DM) office
- Block Development Office (BDO)
- District Electoral Officer (DEO) website
- CEO West Bengal website
- ECINET portal
Important points voters should know
- Voters who are not comfortable using the internet can check the list through their Booth Level Officer (BLO)who will have access to the draft roll.
- Recognised political parties will also receive copies of the draft voter list.
- The draft list will be available offline with BLOsand voters can view or photograph the list using their mobile phones.
- If your name does not appearit should be treated as omitted. In such cases, the Election Commission will send a notice for a hearing.
Documents required for the hearing (if your name is missing)
Voters may be asked to carry any one or more of the following:
- Government employee or pensioner identity card
- Birth certificatepassport, or educational qualification certificate
- Residence certificatecaste certificate, Forest Rights Certificate, or family registration document issued by the state or local authority
- Land or house allotment certificate issued by the government, post office, bank, LIC, or any document issued before 1987 by a local authority
Voters are advised to check their names early in the draft list to avoid last-minute issues during the correction and claims period.
