Ram Mandir Row: SIT starts investigation of Rs 113 crore spent on consecration, know full account of the ceremony

Ram temple is in the headlines these days. The reason is theft in the offerings of Ram temple. Every day new updates related to the case are coming out. The SIT, which is investigating the offering theft, has expanded the scope of its investigation. An investigation is being conducted into the amount of more than Rs 124 crore spent on big programs organized by Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra. This investigation will be into the expenses of big events held in the last two years.

The surprising thing so far is that out of Rs 124 crore, the highest expenditure was incurred on the consecration ceremony of Ram temple held in January 2024. Now SIT will investigate the expenses of the consecration ceremony.

SIT is auditing the financial records of the temple trust for the last two years. The investigators are examining audit reports, payment vouchers, bills, chartered accountant records and expenditure details to ascertain whether the funds have been utilized as per the financial procedures and approvals laid down by the trust.

How much was spent on life and prestige?

  6. religious rituals- 1.06 crore
  7. devotional music- 93 lakhs
  8. Sound System- 68 lakhs
  9. Electricity and Mandal Puja- 43-43 lakhs
  10. Other preparations- 51 lakh

Details of Pratistha Dwadashi ceremony

Apart from this, the investigation of the expenditure incurred on the Pratistha Dwadashi celebrations held from 11 to 13 January 2025 is also under the purview of the SIT. The trust had reportedly spent Rs 83 lakh on the Pratistha Dwadashi celebrations, of which the highest expenditure was Rs 52 lakh on decorations alone. The investigating officers are also probing Rs 43 lakh spent on arrangements for devotees during the Mahakumbh in 2025.

SIT also keeps an eye on these expenses

One of the main subjects of investigation is the flag hoisting ceremony held at Ram temple on 25 November. According to the records of the Trust, Rs 10.12 crore was spent on this. About 6000 guests including PM Modi attended the program. The SIT is also investigating whether the money spent for the program was as per the rules of the trust or not. Apart from the expenditure, investigators are also verifying the records of precious metals and jewelery donated to Ram Lalla.

Investigation of gold and silver also

Apart from this, the SIT will also investigate 2.3 kg gold and 83.3 kg silver donated by devotees between November 2024 and February 2025, in which the figures recorded in the documents will be cross checked with the investigators.
