Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are making India’s ODI strategy, Indian team coach made a big revelation

Sitanshu Kotak Reveals New Batting Template For ODIs: India’s batting coach Sitanshu Kotak said that the team’s star batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are not only focusing on their performance, but are also actively involved in preparing for next year’s ODI World Cup and making India’s long-term strategy.

Kotak said that Virat and Rohit remain in constant touch with head coach Gautam Gambhir and the rest of the team staff. They discuss match strategy, batting order and how to play the match. Kotak said, ‘They want India to win every match. He has so much experience that he shares his ideas even with the young players and helps in deciding the strategy for the team.”

Virat and Rohit share their experience

Kotak also said that he remains on the field during team practice or matches and can see the contribution of both the players from there. He said, “I look there and hear them sharing their experiences and suggestions. Different things appear on social media, but the reality is very positive.”

For the last few months, questions have been raised as to how Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are adjusting to the new coaching structure. Kotak clarified this and said that both the players are continuously helping the team. His experience and suggestions are very important for the team.

New strategy will have to be prepared for batting

Apart from this, Kotak also told about the new rule in ODI. He said that after the T20 World Cup in March, the team will have to prepare its batting strategy according to the rule of choosing the new ball after the 34th over. Now the bowling team can choose only one ball between the 35th to 50th over. Kotak said, “After the T20 World Cup, there will be more ODIs and we will have to make a strategy keeping in mind the new rules.”
