SKM considers Union Govt.’s Decision to Hold Discussion with Farmers Organisations a Great Victory

NEW DELHI: SKM welcomes the decision of fasting farmer leader Sardar Jagjit Singh Dallewal to receive medical support and wishes him quick recovery and good health. The continuous efforts made by SKM leaders for farmers’ unity and Pan – India agitation against the anti-farmer Union Govt. has forced the Govt. to retract from its divisive strategy.

SKM congratulates all farmers of India for being united in demanding that the Union Govt. fulfils all promises made in writing to SKM, on 9.12.2021based on which SKM kept in abeyance it’s historic Delhi Protest, the largest ever farmers’ protest in the world.

SKM calls upon all farmers of India to respond and rise in protest against the Union Govt and force it to roll-back its anti-farmer policies, which were earlier attempted to be imposed through the 3 Black Farm Laws and are now again being attempted to be imposed through the so-called National Policy Framework on Agricultural Marketing (NPFAM), which is nothing but a plan to handover to a few crony corporates control of agricultural land, agriculture, food supply chain, and food security of the nation.

In view of the positive development regarding the health of Sardar Dallewal, SKM calls upon all units to send out Memorandum to Members of Parliament through email instead of holding Kisan Dharna at MP offices on 20th January and redirect full energy to make SKM’s all-India Tractor Rally on 26th January, 2025 a resounding success and a stern warning to the Union Govt.

SKM’s general body shall meet at Delhi on 24th January, 2025 when further agitational programs and action plans shall be announced.

SKM once again calls upon and warns the Union Govt to desist from acting against interest of farmers, the Annadatas of the country. SKM resoundingly informs and announces to the Govt that farmers of this country are united in their demands which have to be met by the Union Govt and till then, democratic agitations in all forms shall continue against the Union Govt.
