Skoda Kodiaq RS Official TVC Released

Skoda officially unveiled its flagship SUV, the Kodiaq RS, in the Indian market recently. Just like the Octavia RS, the Kodiaq RS has also been brought to India as a CBU. Only 50 units were allocated, and surprisingly, all 50 units of the Kodiaq RS were sold even before the official price announcement. Skoda has now released an official TVC for the Kodiaq RS in India.

The video was released by Skoda India on its YouTube channel. The Skoda Kodiaq RS is a much-awaited SUV among buyers looking for a performance-oriented vehicle in this segment. As usual, Rishab Rikhiram Sharma, a popular sitar player and musician, has partnered with Skoda for the promotional campaign of the SUV.

In the video, we get a look at the exterior of the Kodiaq RS, while also seeing the SUV’s capabilities across different terrains. In order to differentiate the RS version from the regular Kodiaq, Skoda has made several changes. The SUV comes with a redesigned bumper, large air intakes, a gloss-black front grille, functional air curtains, an RS badge on the grille, a Kushaq facelift-like connected LED light bar at the front, and more.

Coming to the side, you will notice the massive 20-inch alloy wheels, bright red brake calipers, thick cladding around the wheel arches, blacked-out ORVMs, roof rails, and C-pillar for a sportier look. All the chrome elements seen on the regular Kodiaq have been blacked out in the RS version.

The SUV also gets an LED tail-lamp setup with a connected LED light bar and a revised bumper. The sporty theme continues at the rear as well. On the inside, Skoda is offering an all-black cabin with contrasting red stitching. The SUV gets sports seats with good bolstering and integrated headrests featuring RS badging at the front.

In terms of features, the Kodiaq RS comes with a large 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display, a 13-speaker Canton audio system, ambient lighting, dual wireless smartphone chargers with cooling, triple-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, powered sunshades for the rear seats, memory seats with heating and ventilation functions, manual thigh-support extenders, rear AC vents, Level 2 ADAS, and many more features.

In terms of safety, Skoda is offering the Kodiaq RS with nine airbags, a tyre-pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a 360-degree camera system, front and rear parking sensors, Auto Park Assist, an auto-dimming IRVM, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, ISOFIX child-seat anchorages, and more.

Skoda is offering the Kodiaq RS in four monotone shades: Moon White, Steel Grey, Velvet Red, and Magic Black. These shades are also available on the non-RS versions of the Kodiaq.

Coming to the engine and transmission, the Kodiaq RS uses a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that generates 265 PS and 400 Nm of peak torque. Compared to the regular Kodiaq, it produces 61 PS and 80 Nm more. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox that sends power to all four wheels.

The SUV also comes with the Dynamic Chassis Control Plus (DCC Plus) adaptive suspension system. It can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 6.3 seconds and is currently the quickest Skoda ever launched in India.
