Slogans raised against BJP MLA at CM Sukhu’s program in Himachal, robotic surgery also started in Nerchowk

The political atmosphere heated up on Friday during a program organized by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu in Nachan assembly constituency of Mandi district. When local BJP MLA Vinod Kumar was giving his speech from the stage, some people present in the public meeting started raising slogans against him and demanded that the speech be stopped. At that time the MLA was giving details of the development works done in the area. Later, people calmed down only after the intervention of Chief Minister Sukhu and other leaders present on the stage.

After this incident, MLA Vinod Kumar said in the press conference that whatever development has taken place in Nachan is the contribution of former CM Jairam Thakur. “Chief Minister Sukhu has come to Nachan after 3 years and is now trying to mislead the people,” he alleged.

Nerchowk Medical College gets hi-tech gift

Amid the political tussle, Chief Minister Sukhu launched the robotic surgery facility set up at a cost of Rs 28.44 crore at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Medical College, Nerchowk. This is the third such facility in the state. Earlier, it has been started in Chamiyana of Shimla and Tanda Medical College of Kangra. On this occasion, the CM himself observed the first surgery.

The Chief Minister announced that this facility will soon be started in IGMC Shimla and Hamirpur Medical College also. He informed that 151 successful robotic surgeries have been done in Chamiyana and 92 in Tanda.

“It takes time to fix the deteriorating systems. Due to the closure of RDG, Rs 10,000 crore has been reduced from the state budget, yet the state government is going to spend Rs 3,000 crore on modern medical technology.” — Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Chief Minister

Sukhu rained on Center and former CM

While addressing the public meeting in Nachan, CM Sukhu fiercely targeted the Central Government. Accusing him of stopping the RDG-GST compensation, he said, “During the time of Jairam Thakur, the state got Rs 70 thousand crores, whereas during the time of Congress, it got only Rs 17 thousand crores and now the central government is stopping that too.”

Terming BJP as ‘anti-Himachal’, he said that the party neither raised its voice during the disaster nor opened its mouth on the issue of RDG. Sukhu also claimed that if BJP comes to power, it will close the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), but the Congress government will not allow this to happen.

The CM also took a dig at former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur. He said that despite being the Chief Minister from Mandi, Jai Ram Thakur could not install MRI machine in Ner Chowk Medical College. Now Tesla-3 MRI machine will be installed here.

Many announcements for Nerchowk College

The Chief Minister also made several important announcements for the Medical College Ner Chowk. He said that a heart disease department will be established here and PG courses will be started in all the departments. Apart from this, assurance was also given to fill the vacant posts of doctors, paramedical staff and technicians and to increase the posts of SRs.
