Mumbai: The Indian women’s cricket team made a strong appearance in a new episode of Netflix’s famous show ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’. The episode is meant to celebrate the team’s recent World Cup win, which will air on 27 December 2025. Kapil Sharma welcomed Harmanpreet Kaur, Richa Ghosh, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shefali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Renuka Singh, Harleen Deol, Radha Yadav, Pratika Rawal and head coach Amol Muzumdar on this occasion.
In the promo, Kapil was seen laughing and joking with the team. He asked Harmanpreet about Bhangra dance while lifting the trophy. Jemimah told that the credit for this idea goes to Smriti Mandhana. She said, “Smriti had told Harman didi that if I did not do Bhangra, I would not talk for the rest of my life!” However, fans also noticed on social media that Smriti Mandhana was not present in the show, on which fans are giving their reactions.

One user wrote, “Missing Smriti a lot, but the team takes her name wherever they go, this friendship is amazing!” Some other fans also shared the team’s bonding and World Cup memories and described this episode as the funniest. Smriti’s absence is being linked to her personal life.
Recently, in December 2025, Smriti announced the cancellation of her wedding with music composer Palash Muchhal. Their wedding was scheduled to take place in November, but it had to be postponed due to Smriti’s father’s ill health and Palash’s hospitalization. Later both of them decided to separate.
Smriti appealed for her privacy by sharing a statement on Instagram. Palash also issued a statement dismissing the rumours. Smriti is currently away from public appearances, and was not even seen on Amitabh Bachchan’s show KBC recently. The Indian women’s team won the World Cup for the first time this year, in which Smriti’s batting played an important role. Fans hope that Smriti will soon focus on cricket and make a comeback on the field.
