Smriti Mandhana, Palash Muchhal Call Off Wedding: ‘Decided To Move On In Life’
Cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal have officially announced the cancellation of their highly anticipated wedding. The couple, initially slated to marry on November 23, 2025, released separate statements requesting privacy for both families and citing personal reasons for the decision.
In her Instagram note, Mandhana described herself as “a very private person,” and clarified that she wanted to draw a line under the speculation swirling around their relationship. She said: “Over the past few weeks there has been plenty of speculation around my life, and I feel it is important for me to speak out at this time. I want to close this matter here and urge everyone to do the same.” She reaffirmed her commitment to cricket, declaring that her focus remains on representing the country and continuing her sporting journey.
Almost simultaneously, Muchhal posted his own statement on Instagram, saying he had decided to “move on” and step away from their personal relationship. He expressed how distressing it had been to see people react quickly to what he described as “baseless rumours” about something deeply personal. He also warned that his team will undertake legal action against those spreading defamatory or false content.
The abrupt turn of events comes after their wedding was postponed just hours before the planned ceremony. Mandhana’s father suffered a medical emergency, and shortly afterwards, Muchhal was also reportedly hospitalised. The series of incidents triggered intense media and social-media speculation, including claims of infidelity and controversies surrounding pre-wedding celebrations. Some rumours suggested problems during their sangeet night, though neither party has confirmed those allegations publicly.

As a result of the cancellation, the two have unfollowed each other on social media, deleted shared posts and photos, and issued a joint appeal for their privacy, emphasising that the matter is personal and should remain so.
For fans and well-wishers, this closure might bring disappointment. But both Smriti and Palash seem determined to move forward with dignity. Mandhana wrote that there is “a higher purpose driving us all,” and for her, that purpose remains being at the top of her sport. Muchhal, while expressing heartbreak, urged the public and media to pause before accepting or spreading unverified gossip.

The end of this relationship has been handled with honesty and a request for compassion. In a world quick to sensationalise even private moments, their decision stands as a reminder that some matters deserve discretion and respect rather than speculation.
