Snowfall in Shimla-Manali, rain in Chamba, power failure in many areas, read latest updates

Shimla . This year’s first snowfall occurred in Shimla-Manali of Himachal Pradesh. Snowfall still continues. Whereas, it rained in Kangra. Strong winds have been blowing in Shimla since late night. In Chamba too, continuous rains are continuing and there has been power failure in many areas.

Cold wave prevailed in Barthin, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Una, Mandi and Kangra. The minimum temperature at 20 major places in the state was less than 5 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert on Friday in Lahaul Spiti, Chamba and Kullu districts regarding storm speed of 40 to 50 kmph and heavy snowfall.

At the same time, yellow alert has been issued for hailstorm and rain along with storm in Mandi, Kangra, Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Solan. Apart from Shimla city, there is a possibility of snowfall in Manali, Kufri, Narkanda and Solang Valley on Friday. There was strong sunshine in the state on Thursday and after the strong sunshine, it became cloudy in some areas including Shimla and Kangra in the evening. The day temperature in the state has increased by three degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature was recorded seven degrees Celsius above normal. The maximum increase in maximum temperature was 3.7 degrees Celsius in Jubbarhatti, 2.9 degrees in Neri, 2.7 in Tabo, 2.5 degrees in Hamirpur.

The highest temperature in the state was 25.4 degrees Celsius in Neri. There has been a difference of one to two degrees Celsius in the minimum temperature. There is a possibility of heavy snowfall and rain on 26 and 27 January. There may be light rain and snow on January 24. It was sunny in the tourist cities Manali and Lahaul Spiti and the weather changed at eight in the night. Snow fell on the peaks late at night. Tourists went to the tourist spot Shinkula in four by four vehicles and enjoyed the weather in the snow throughout the day.
