High profile candidates of BJP-AAP filed nominations, till now 235 political leaders have filed nomination in Delhi.

New Delhi: Another 235 candidates filed nomination papers for Delhi Assembly elections. In which many high profile candidates are also included. Talking about prominent names, many prominent leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party and Aam Aadmi Party including Arvind Kejriwal, Pravesh Verma, Ramesh Bidhuri, Kailash Gehlot and Satyendar Jain filed their nomination papers on Wednesday for the Delhi Assembly elections to be held on February 5. .

AAP national convenor Kejriwal filed his nomination from New Delhi constituency. Before filing his election papers, Kejriwal along with his wife Sunita offered prayers at Hanuman and Valmiki temples. The former Delhi Chief Minister led a march from the AAP headquarters to the New Delhi District Magistrate's office to file nomination, with hundreds of AAP workers accompanying him carrying party flags.

In a video, Kejriwal's son and daughter were seen dancing to the tune of the party's campaign song during the padyatra. He said that Aam Aadmi Party will form the government with full majority. He said that he wants to request the people of Delhi to vote on the basis of work and not on the basis of abuses. Attacking the BJP, Kejriwal said the party has no vision, no face and no story for the post of chief minister.

Senior AAP leader and former Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain is also in the fray. Jain is eyeing victory from Shakur Basti for the fourth consecutive time. On behalf of BJP, Parvesh Verma, son of former MP and former Delhi Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma, filed his nomination, during which prominent party leaders including Baijayant Jai Panda and MP Sudhanshu Trivedi were present with him. According to Verma's office, he took blessings at several prestigious temples before filing his nomination. He first visited Gauri Shankar Temple located at Chandni Chowk, then visited Hanuman Temple located at Connaught Place. Finally they reached Maharishi Valmiki temple.

Ramesh Bidhuri, who is contesting from Kalkaji against Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and Congress candidate Alka Lamba, also filed his nomination papers on Wednesday. Bidhuri was also accompanied by Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and BJP's Delhi unit president Virendra Sachdeva. Bidhuri also held a rally after filing nomination and said that after the formation of BJP government in Delhi on February 8, drug addicts, goons and people with criminal mentality will either be found in jail or will leave Delhi on the lines of Uttar Pradesh. Many other BJP stalwarts including Rohini candidate Vijender Gupta, Karol Bagh candidate Dushyant Kumar Gautam and Bijwasan candidate Kailash Gehlot also filed their nominations.
