During a confrontation between the intruder and the actor's maid, Saif attempted to intervene and was stabbed to a thoracic spine. In a statement, the 'Omkara' actor allegedly told the police that although he tried to stop the attacker, his grip was loosened after the knife. Saif also stated that he and Kareena Kapoor came out of the bedroom after hearing the cry of Staff Nurse Elliamma, on which he faced the intruder. The 54 -year -old actor suffered several injuries in the attack and underwent several surgery at Lilavati Hospital in Bandra.
