Master Blaster kept his promise after 15 years

The great Sachin Tendulkar had kept his promise after a total of 15 years. About which he said, ‘In those days there were benefit matches for retired cricketers. So I told him in New Zealand, ‘Gushi, someday, you will retire. You can’t play for the rest of your life, but the day you retire and you get a benefit match, I promise I will come and play and I am happy that I could play their match.

Recalling that match, Sachin Tendulkar said, ‘I told him, ‘Gushi, I had promised you in New Zealand (in 1990) that I would play in your benefit match and after 15 years, now that you have decided to host a benefit match, I will definitely come and play. This is my promise.
