The severe cold across the country has completely affected the daily routine of the people. With the beginning of the new year, cold and fog have taken a fierce form. Dense fog will be seen in large parts of North India in the morning, due to which road, rail and air traffic may be severely affected. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning saying that along with the cold wave, visibility is going to be very low in many states. Especially in many districts of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Punjab, Himachal, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, the situation remains serious.
In many cities in the morning, visibility is not even 10 to 25 meters, due to which people are facing difficulty in leaving their homes. The effect of cold is so severe that in many areas the temperature has reached below 5 degrees Celsius, while in the hilly states the mercury is being recorded at minus. The Meteorological Department has advised the elderly, children and sick people to exercise special caution. At the same time, drivers have also been warned to travel slowly and with caution.

How will be the weather in Uttar Pradesh today?
Talking about North India, there is dense fog in the morning in many districts of Uttar Pradesh. Visibility has reduced significantly in cities like Deoria, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Kanpur, Lucknow, Bareilly, Amethi, Agra and Tundla. At many places, visibility is not clear even for 10 to 25 meters. The situation is similar in Delhi too, where there is dense fog in the morning and vehicles are seen crawling on the roads.
Today’s weather in Himachal
In Himachal Pradesh, a warning of dense fog has been issued in areas like Shimla, Hamirpur, Mandi and Kullu. Fog has affected life in Amritsar, Jalandhar, Firozpur, Ludhiana, Bathinda and many surrounding districts of Punjab.
Talking about temperature, the minimum temperature in Delhi, Noida and surrounding areas has reached around or below 5 degrees Celsius. The temperature has fallen by 2 degrees in Nainital of Uttarakhand and Shimla, the capital of Himachal. The mercury has dropped to minus in hilly areas like Manali and Leh, while extreme cold has been recorded in Siachen Glacier.

Weather condition in cities of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar
In Uttar Pradesh, dense fog has persisted since morning in Kanpur, Lucknow, Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Jhansi, Muzaffarnagar and surrounding districts. Even in Bihar, visibility is very low due to fog in Patna, Gaya, Purnia, Katihar, Araria and many other districts and the effect of cold has intensified.
How is the weather of Jharkhand
In Jharkhand, areas like Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bokaro and Palamu are covered with dense fog along with cold wave. Cold and snowfall have increased the problems in Dehradun, Mussoorie, Nainital and hilly areas of Uttarakhand. Heavy snowfall is occurring in the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh.
How is the weather today in Rajasthan?
Dense fog is being seen since morning in Jaipur, Sikar and Churu including Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. The effect of fog and cold is clearly visible in Bhopal, Gwalior and surrounding districts of Madhya Pradesh.
The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to avoid unnecessary travel, be careful while driving and use warm clothes to protect from cold. Cold and fog may increase further problems in the coming days.
