Son-in-law arrived to perform the last rites of his mother-in-law, when he entered the river the crocodile dragged him away.
A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh. A young man who had come here to perform the last rites of his mother-in-law was dragged away by a crocodile. After hours of search, the young man’s body was found near Pipa’s bridge. The deceased has been identified as Deepak Verma. He worked in Noida and had come here to perform the last rites of his breath.
Preparations for the funeral were going on on the banks of Ghaghra river. Deepak had entered the river to wash his hands. Then the crocodile attacked him. People screamed, but by then the crocodile had dragged him into deep water. SDRF and local divers conducted extensive searches. After hours of effort, Deepak’s body was found near Pipa’s bridge.

Deepak had gone to wash his hands and feet
According to the police, 27-year-old Deepak Verma had come to perform the last rites of his 50-year-old mother-in-law Urmila Devi. Preparations for the funeral were going on on the banks of Ghaghra river near Sonauli village. Deepak went down to the river to wash his hands and feet. As soon as he bowed his head and started washing his hands, the crocodile caught his head in its jaws. People screamed, but the crocodile quickly pulled him into deep water.

Dead body found near Pipa’s bridge
SDRF searched for Deepak in the river. After hours of effort, Deepak’s body was found near Pipa bridge located near Sonauli village. After getting the Panchnama done, the police has sent the body for post-mortem.
