Sleeping father attacked late at night
A sensational incident took place on Wednesday night in Ayodhya Prasad village of Gulriha police station area of Gorakhpur. According to the information, 55-year-old Brahmadev Kannaujiya was sleeping on a cot outside the house after having dinner. Meanwhile, late at night his younger son Golu Kannaujiya attacked him with an axe.
According to the police, the incident happened between 2 to 2.30 in the night. It is alleged that the attacker repeatedly attacked the father’s head and neck. Brahmadev Kannaujiya died on the spot due to serious injuries. After the incident the accused fled from there.
Villagers gathered after hearing the screams
Hearing the noise and screams during the attack, people nearby reached the spot. By the time the villagers reached there, Brahmadev had died. Information about the incident was immediately given to the police, after which the police team reached the spot in the night itself and started investigation.
The police inspected the spot and collected evidence and took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem. Officials say that many possible locations are being raided to arrest the accused.
